SAFLOK Establishes New Middle East Headquarters in Dubai

Bur Dubai, Dubai, UAE – November, 2006 - SAFLOK®, the leading international provider of electronic lock systems has established its newest full service facility in Bur Dubai.

This headquarters will serve as a sales, service, and technical support hub for the Middle East region and will also provide service and technical support. The move to add this new location to its growing list global enterprise centers is a result of its increasing market share in the region.

Through this strategic move, SAFLOK will have the ability to support lead its team of distributors and augment its already prominent international presence. As an international leader, SAFLOK has offices and distributors strategically positioned throughout the world including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

SAFLOK Dubai will work in partnership with its distributors such as Metallic Equipment Inc., Hasoub, Saudi Arabia—to serve premier customers such as Hilton Al Ain, Meridien Abu Dhabi, Sheraton Dubai Creek, and Ritz Carlton Bahrain, Dubai and Qatar.

According to Philip Van Neer, SAFLOK sales manager in Dubai, “The establishment of this new headquarters is a reflection of SAFLOK’s global presence and will broaden, as well as strengthen our reputation as a trusted name throughout the world.”

He added, “In strengthening our Middle Eastern foothold, we are enabling customers throughout the region to benefit even more from SAFLOK’s technology, expertise, and customer service.”

The SAFLOK Dubai team consists of Ayaz Mohammed—SAFLOK technician, Shariff H.U.—Assistant Sales Manager, and Ilyas Ismaiel, System Engineer. This team is under the supervision of Philip Van Neer. SAFLOK Dubai will report to the head office in Belgium, Europe.

The company is also taking advantage of this launch to highlight its newest product—the Quantum™ sectional trim lock. Quantum introduces enhancements in both design and functionality. This new lock is available in two configurations: Quantum RFID (radio frequency identification) and Quantum™ MT.

Unique to the industry, Quantum RFID is the only stand-alone sectional trim lock that enables access through the application of proximity technology. The lock's technology is wrapped in a smaller, sleeker sectional package and it uses non-physical contact for communications with its command credential. There is no hard contact between the lock reader and the keycard.

According to Glenn Peacock, SAFLOK director of marketing, “Proximity technology has gained increasing demand in the Middle East and other markets. Quantum RFID was developed in response to this trend.”

As with a number of SAFLOK locks, Quantum seamlessly integrates with existing System 6000™ installations. Quantum RFID will be on display during the launch of the Dubai office where one hundred guests are expected to attend the auspicious dinner celebration on board the luxury yacht Bateaux Dubai.
